Do you ever just let a thought linger in the back of your mind for a while – whether it be a week or a couple of years, you never really act on it? And why might that be? Is it because we’re afraid of what might happen? Or that we might find that thought unrealistic? But what if that thought is supposed to be there? What if it is supposed to change everything?
What have I learned? I am now 20 years old and I realized a week and a half ago I am not on the right path to happiness whatsoever. I am on the path to “okay, I will make enough money this way”. That IS NOT happiness. If I can tell you one thing for certain it is this, do not hesitate in life. If you’re sitting looking at a potential starting point in life that contains your passions and your dreams, something you really could see yourself doing, go for it. Do not think, like I did, this might not ever get me far enough. My mother told me many times, “if you’re passionate about something, you will be successful”. The ironic thing is, she repeatedly told me this when it came to what I was not passionate about, but it made me realize what I did and didn’t want to do with my life.
In my life- this dispute taunted me for a couple of years now. I have always wanted to write. I have loved the idea of expressing thoughts on paper and comparing them to the real world; really putting them out there and seeing how relatable my reality is to everyone else’s. There are standards to every single aspect of life- what to say & when to say it, step by step on how to be successful, even a step by step on how to be happy. These social constructs in fact define many of us- many of our stories. And I let them define mine for a while….

I am so proud of you, as always! Proud that you are taking a leap of faith and going after your dreams and passions!!
Keep on keeping on...
